It has always mattered who tells the story, and who gets to be its subject. Too often, the people who quietly keep a place running are left out of the frame entirely, or reduced to a caption.
MADE IN exists to put them at the center. It tells the stories of the people who are the pulse of a place, the ones who live in the shadows, and quietly keep a society whole. MADE IN turns the anti-hero into the hero.
Each chapter pairs one place with one person: a tradesperson, a maker, someone whose hands have shaped a craft passed down before them. Told through photography and first-person narrative, MADE IN moves slowly by design. One story fully told, before the next begins.
The chapters aren't ranked or dated. They sit together as one growing record of the people who hold a place together.
MADE IN is published online, one chapter at a time, at the pace each story requires. Each chapter draws on whatever the story calls for: photography, film, first-person narrative, sometimes all three at once. We don't set out with a format in mind. The place and the person decide how their story gets told, and we build the chapter around that. What stays constant is the pace: nothing is rushed to meet a schedule, and nothing is published until it's ready.
